Description: In the glass, the Sperss from Angelo Gaja shows a dense ruby red colour. Kept at a slight angle, a transition of the wine color in the direction of garnet red can be seen at the edges. In the glass, this red wine by Angelo Gaja shows aromas of plums, black cherries, prunes and morello cherries, complemented by firewood, vanilla and air-dried ham. The Sperss is ideal for everyone who likes as little residual sugar as possible in the wine. However, it is never sparse or brittle, but round and supple. The texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully silky on the palate. In the finish, this red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region delights with its considerable length. There are again echoes of morello cherries and plums. Mineral notes from the soil, which is dominated by clay and limestone, join in the aftertaste.
