Description
One of four expressions from the Bellevoye, each of which are blended malts made with single malt whiskies from around France.
Bellevoye Blue French Triple Malt Whisky is a non-peated blended malt made from three different regions--Brittany, Alsace and Cognac. All of the ingredients used in its production are French. The whiskey is initally aged for three to eight years in French oak casks., then finished for nine to twelve months post-blend ageing in French new fine grain oak casks.
BELLEVOYE BLUE FRENCH WHISKY TASTING NOTES
Colour: Medium gold.
Aroma: Creamy vanilla and honey dominate. It’s got that lumber-y new-wood note that I find in a lot of young, non-Scotch single malts. Ripe apples and a touch of banana. Fresh grass, flowers, mint, and lemon. Some caramel popcorn and graham cracker.
Palate: Fairly thin. Develops very rapidly from sweet caramel to table grapes, heavy oak tannins, and demerara sugar. Spiced with cinnamon, clove and nutmeg.
Finish: Short. Oak and black pepper, with more cloves. The slightest bit of fig.
