Teeling Wonders of Wood 2 Bottling Note
Teeling doesn't tend to shy away from interesting cask experiments as its Wonders of Wood series demonstrates. The second edition takes a single pot still Irish whiskey, made with a 50/50 split of malted and unmalted barley, and pops it into casks made of virgin Portuguese oak, which is known for its high tannins. This should be boisterous, interesting stuff.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Rich marmalade, oaky spice, old leather, and orange peel.
Palate: Warming with cloves, nutmeg, and toasted oak joined by malty vanilla, orchard fruit, and tobacco.
Finish: More citrus, spice, and oaky warmth.
