Descriptions:

The Wiltinger Alte Reben Riesling Kabinett from Nik Weis St. Urbans-Hof is a seductive, characterful and single-varietal white wine from the German wine-growing region of Wiltingen an der Saar (Wiltinger Schlangengraben vineyard).

In the glass, this wine shines a clear light gold with platinum highlights. The nose delights with a herbal bouquet, which also reveals fruity aromas of sun-ripened citrus fruits and ripe gooseberries. Thanks to the Devonian slate soil, mineral nuances also emerge. On the palate, this German white wine is very lively with a playful character. This wine also offers complex depth and a firm structure, perfectly rounded off by invigorating acidity and a delicate residual sweetness.

Vinification of the Nik Weis St. Urbans-Hof Wiltinger Alte Reben Riesling Kabinett

The Wiltinger Schlangengraben single vineyard is located on the Saar River. The soils are characterized by hard, red Devonian slate. Planted as early as 1905, this vineyard is one of the oldest of its kind. The vines are up to 114 years old.

At the Nik Weis St. Urbans-Hof winery, the Riesling grapes are first spontaneously fermented in stainless steel tanks. This is followed by aging in stainless steel tanks. Oak aging is deliberately avoided to allow the clear aromas and characteristic minerality to fully express themselves.
