Descriptions: The Nik Weis – Ockfen Bockstein Riesling GG (12.5%) is a dry, single-vineyard Riesling from one of the Mosel’s most revered grand cru (Grosses Gewächs) sites. Grown on steep, slate-rich slopes in the Saar Valley, this wine offers remarkable precision, minerality, and elegance. On the nose, it reveals complex aromas of yellow peach, fresh herbs, wildflowers, and subtle smoky flint, characteristic of the slate soils. Hints of lemon curd, beeswax, and cardamom add layers of aromatic depth. On the palate, it is structured and focused, with a dense, dry body, lively Saar acidity, and a long, herbaceous and mineral-driven finish. Vinified with great care, this Riesling is both powerful and refined, showcasing the terroir of Ockfener Bockstein with clarity and age-worthy potential.
The Nik Weis – Ockfen Bockstein Riesling GG (12.5%) is crafted from hand-harvested grapes grown on steep, slate-rich slopes in the prestigious Ockfener Bockstein vineyard, a VDP.Grosse Lage site in the Saar. The wine undergoes a gentle pressing, followed by spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel and traditional Fuder barrels. It is matured on the fine lees for several months to enhance texture and complexity, while maintaining the precision and minerality characteristic of the site. Vinified fully dry in accordance with VDP.GG standards, the wine reflects both its grand cru terroir and the elegant, focused style of the Saar.
