Description: This powerful red wine from South Africa is made from the Shiraz grape variety. The grapes grow near the river in the Coastal Region. The vines here dig their roots deep into the granite soil. With the softening influence of the nearby river, the grapes ripen more slowly and develop more aromatic complexity. After being picked by hand, the grapes are quickly transported to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken open. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After completion of the fermentation, the Shiraz Stellenbosch WO is aged for 14 months in oak barriques.
