GRAPPA OTTANTOTTO BARRIQUE 70CL. LUIGI FRANCOLI IN WOODEN BOX.
Organoleptic profile:
Colour: amber, with very intense golden reflections.
Bouquet: jam and candied fruit with a pleasant hint of raisins; end; noble.
Taste-smell: the vigorous entry of the alcoholic note does not hide a sweet nuance due to the long aging. The vanilla of the wood is immediately perceived accompanied by notes of tea leaves and candied fruit. Pepper emerges in the finish.
The persistence is remarkable.
The pomace and the distillation
Grape variety of origin: Nebbiolo from the most suitable Piedmontese wine-growing areas.
The permanence in the wood and the alcohol content
Aging: took place from November 1999 until November 2002 in oak barrels with thick staves. Aging: takes place in used Limousin oak barriques for even long periods, in this case from November 2002 to July 2008, caressing the Grappa and ensuring balance and harmony.
The alcohol content: 43.5% vol.
This rather strong gradation accentuates the perception of perfumes, without, however, invading the olfactory receptors with alcoholic arrogance.
For an ideal tasting:
La Ottantotto Barriques prefers a service temperature of around 18-20°C in a tulip-shaped glass (preferably large) so that there is maximum exaltation of the aromas that the aging in wood has given.
