Description
Dalmore 21 Year Old 2022 Bottling Note
Exceptional single malt from The Dalmore, matured for 21 years. Firstly, the distillery set the whisky aside to mature in American oak casks, but eventually it was moved over to casks that previously held 30-year-old Matusalem sherry from the experts at Gonzalez Byass for a lengthy finishing period of up to 36 months. This is the 2022 release, bottled up at 43.8% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Rich notes of rancio, cigar box, damp wood, and baking spices, bolstered by bittersweet cocoa and a lick of butterscotch.
Palate: A symphony of dried fruits appear while the spices become dustier (think fresh cinnamon and clove), supported by old leather, dark chocolate, and juicy citrus.
Finish: A dry finish of curiously savoury baking spices, rich nuttiness, and fresh orchard fruit.
