Special release dedicated to the father of the winemakers from the deservedly renowned Ca’ dei Frati. A wonderfully distinctive Amarone – fresher than is usual in the style, though retaining that requisite intensity and packing a quite extraordinary alcoholic punch. This is a special wine from special winemakers that is still getting better. Grapes hand-picked from the Luxinum vineyard in Pian di Castagne. Following fermentation the wine spends two years in barriques, 12 months in stainless steel and a further two years in bottle before release.
Fresh, vibrant acidity with great depth of fruit, with trademark sour cherries to the fore as well as touches of chewing tobacco and old balsamic vinegar. Great, slightly bitter spice and even a touch of grassiness.
